Kicking off 2016 with Reading Buddies from 5A

Last Wednesday, January 13, 2B jumped into the new year with a reading buddy program. The girls had a wonderful opportunity to develop their social and communication skills by pairing up with a partner from 5A. They each took turns listening and reading to each other. They hope to continue meeting each other throughout the rest of the school year.

Grade 2 students are learning to identify features in non-fiction texts such as labels, table of contents, diagrams and more! These skills will help them inquire into our current unit, "How the World Works."

Welcome to the Grade 2 Blog!

The girls are off to a fresh start, and it is our pleasure to announce that we will be communicating with parents and family members via this blog. Our goal is to be transparent about what the girls are learning by providing photographs, snippets of their work, reflections on the past week and reminders for upcoming events.

As moderators, we pledge to protect the privacy of our students and ask that any comments made on this blog also adhere to this policy. Please refrain from using any names when referring to Seisen students or their families. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please do not hesitate to contact us at any of our e-mails.

We are extremely excited for this year and are eager to see your daughters grow as students who "learn to love and love to learn."

Cheers!
- Mr. E, Miss Ciara, and Miss Erika
